Disney Encanto at the Hollywood Bowl

Overview:
As a member of the All Of It Now team, I was fortunate enough to contribute to creating augmented reality (AR) segments for Disney's Encanto during the live Hollywood Bowl show and Disney Plus event. Throughout the project, our team encountered numerous challenges that we successfully overcame. The overall experience was undeniably enjoyable and fulfilling.

 Content Creation
  • Took a leadership role in the project, assisted in managing artists’ workload, and provided feedback, support, and direction to artists for aesthetic and technical considerations.

  • Worked closely with the Art director to keep quality and style consistent throughout the project.

  • Design and translated various VFX concepts into real-time VFX through Niagara systems and blueprints in Unreal Engine

  • Worked closely with the projection team to integrate the AR VFX with the stage projection content and music through UE level sequencer.

  • Created Houdini lidar point cloud converter tool for turning the real geographic locations into Previz polygon mesh in Engine

  • Prototyped and tested volumetric cloud work flow in UE.

 Onsite

  •  Collaborated with the onsite team to assist with changes to VFX content on set when necessary.

  • Operated during shooting, blueprint debugging, and troubleshooting on-set technical issues, testing the unreal scene.

 Post Production

  •  Supported post-production, modified VFX to client feedback, set up sequencers for rendering separate VFX elements, tested Stype movie render queue

Intel Outside Lands
Overview:
As part of AOIN team, I'm increadibly fortunate to work on this project. It involved developing an activation for Intel at Outside Lands 2022 that incorporated a customized rhythm game set in the futuristic world of "Spark City." As users danced to music, interactive elements were triggered, showcasing dynamic VFX that changed based on the time of day. The game was developed using Unreal Engine 5, making use of advanced lighting features and high visual fidelity.

Content Creation
● Designed, created, and modified various real-time interactive VFX using Niagara Particle System and Blueprint, including Fireworks, meteor showers, holograms, birds, sparks, VAT flower blossom…
● Work closely with the art director to iterate the VFX to achieve high visual quality and finish with the final polished and optimized VFX in Engine.
● Working closely with the Tech lead, scripted blueprints that are easy to be implemented into the event invoke system.

Overview:
AOIN team collaborated with artists from Epic, &Pull and Six Degress of Freedom to provided technical integration and creative support for incorporation of Augment Reality into Coachella's main stage YouTube livestream. Go beyond the traditional festival experience and provide viewers with enhanced and immersive digital engagement.
My Contribution:

● Prototyped Flower animation with Houdini soft body VAT to UE workflow
● Prepared materials and scripted Blueprint for spheres orbiting along the spline system
● Prototyped blueprint for folding/unfolding dome that displays 360-degree video
● Fixed and adjusted butterfly animation in level sequencer
● Created 3d models for the jumbotron tower and extended LED screens

● Modified custom character and props rig to use for real-time motion capture in UE
● Created additional facial blend shapes for custom characters to achieve high-fidelity real-time facial capture

● Set up animation BP and Livelink for real-time motion capture compatible with motion builder, iPhone Livelink face app to UE Workflow
● Remotely support on-set production

Overview:
Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes® is the first brand globally to work with Twitch to transform a brand mascot into an interactive VTuber. AOIN Team was tasked to assist in preparing Tony the Tiger character for real-time motion capture in Unreal Engine.

Overview:
Director Louis Leterrier gives insight into some of the magic that went into making “FAST X,” breaking down how he filmed these unforgettable action scenes in legendary locations around the world. The behind-the-scenes interview with Louis was captured using a LED volume backdrop and tracked cameras. The AOIN team collaborates closely with Sunnyboy Entertainment to deliver realistic 3D real-time environments for this production.

  • Collaborated closely with the art director, leading the content team.

  • Utilized USD workflow to import 3D assets from Maya to Unreal Engine

  • Clean up and prep 3D vehicle and prop assets using a custom Houdini tool for integration into Unreal Engine

  • Utilize Unreal's Automotive Material for realistic vehicle assets

  • Created blueprint and basic rig for Automotive assets

  • Created Niagara FX for smoke and explosion

  • Created and lighting the virtual environment for Spanish Step scene for running in real-time

  • Animated the cars and bombs for the Spanish Steps scene and Rio scene.

Overview:
AOIN team has been hired by The Meta Video Production (MVP) team to craft top-tier 3D environments for their XR stages utilizing Unreal Engine. This undertaking involves developing a unified virtual realm featuring numerous filming spots within a single virtual set. I consider myself fortunate to have played a role in this project as the environment artist and content lead.

  • Collaborated closely with the art director and producer to establish project goals, timelines, resource requirements

  • Utilized procedrual content creation workflow in Houdini and to streamline assest generation, scene assembly and iteration processes

  •  Intergrated procedrual content into Unreal Engine, ensuring compatibility, optimization and adherence to project specification

  • Participate in feedback sessions, iterate on designs, and troubleshoot technical issues to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget

Meta XR Environment 2023
Overview:
AOIN team has been contracted by the Meta Video Production (MVP) team to develop virtual environments for their XR stages. The project entails creating three distinct XR environments. I'm responsible for designing and creating one of the XR environments: the Meta Patio.The objective for the Meta Patio environment is to provide a cozy and expansive outdoor setting conducive to collaboration, communication, and brainstorming. While the aim is not to replicate specific patios found at Meta office buildings worldwide, the design draws inspiration from them.

  • Gathered and analyzed reference images of Meta office outdoor spaces

  • Worked together with the art director to finalize the floor plan design

  • Created the virtual environment through modeling, texturing, set dressing, and lighting

Overview:
A Diverse Musical Encounter featuring Flamenco Queer, Andrew Lancaster, Jered Sorkin, and Bruno Zamborlin, showcased at Sonar Barcelona in 2023. Continuing the exploration of "Unique," each performance evolves based on its presentation environment. Audiences witnessed the convergence of three distinct worlds on various screens or curated their own journey on their mobile devices, with the music shaping the immersive environments. I was fortunate to contribute to some of the visual effects showcased in this project.

Overview:
AOIN was tasked by FOX NFL Sunday with creating an initial prototype for Fox Sport's upcoming visuals on Jay Glazer's NFL Sunday 'Ins & Outs' segment. The aim was to develop concepts and visuals that complemented the existing Fox NFL Sunday Graphics package. This project marked my introduction to AOIN and the first project I worked on upon joining the team. I joined the project during its early development phase and was responsible for asset ingestion, initial lighting passes in UE, and constructing the blueprint system for the mock-up before handing it over to the lead Technical Artist for finalization. This project provided invaluable experience as my initial foray into the virtual production realm.

    designing the environment

  • Assisted with ingesting 3d assets, textures and materials into UE4

  • Lighted the scene with a good understanding of the mood and atmosphere.

“Polyatomic” is a virtual reality game. The players are dancing with the beats while catching, throwing, joining and splitting the molecules to learn basic chemistry concepts and having fun.

  • Worked closely with the game designers to build scientifically accurate models and particle effects for different elements.

Overview:

Oracle is a Tactical RPG that takes place during the Roman Conquest of Greece. Elegant UI design, variety of characters to choose from, simple but fun to play.

  • Collaborating with producers and animators to re-target animation to characters in the engine.

  • Working closely with the art director and level designers to create in-game particle visual effects.
